Pineapple is honored to have contributed to the newly constructed SpectraCare Crisis Care Center, the latest addition to Alabama’s network of mental health crisis centers. Following the passage of state legislation to fund six such facilities across Alabama, SpectraCare officially opened its doors with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in February.
This state-of-the-art center operates 24/7, 365 days a year, offering immediate support for individuals experiencing mental health or substance use crises.
The facility features 15 temporary observation beds and 12 extended observation beds, allowing individuals to receive care for up to five days.
Pineapple furnished the center with thoughtfully selected patient furniture designed for both durability and safety. The Ryno Bed was chosen for its industry-leading strength and long-term reliability, while matching Nightstands provide secure personal storage. With over 15 color options available, Ryno products offer both function and design flexibility to suit any care environment.
To support daily routines and encourage communal engagement, the facility was also outfitted with Cumulus dining tables and Ryno dining chairs-durable options that stand up to high-traffic use. For added comfort in lounge areas, Sigma chairs and loveseats were introduced, offering inviting spaces for rest and recovery. In lower-acuity zones, Ohio seating was selected to soften the atmosphere, bringing a more residential feel to the therapeutic environment.
The Levo Recliner was another selective addition, designed to aid in de-escalation. These reduced-ligature recliners offer individuals a relaxing seating option and, when positioned facing a television, help foster a calm, decompressing experience during heightened moments of distress.
This project was a true collaboration from day one. We were honored to host the SpectraCare executive team at our showroom, where we explored product options together and discussed the vision and importance of this facility. Through a guided selection process, we recommended furniture and upholstery solutions that met their goals for safety, comfort, and long-term use.
Pineapple is proud to have played a small but meaningful role in bringing this vital facility to life. The SpectraCare Crisis Care Center now stands as a beacon of accessible mental health support for individuals and families across Alabama—an effort we are grateful to have supported.
