River Edge Behavioral Health and Mercer University School of Medicine collaborated to create a first of its kind facility in Georgia. The new facility is set to offer care for those with disabilities that are both in and out of crisis. Designed to provide both inpatient and outpatient services, the center places special focus on supporting those with histories of hospitalization or incarceration.
To furnish the inpatient spaces, the facility selected several products from Pineapple, known for their durability and reliability in challenging environments. Ryno products, in particular, were chosen for their lifetime warranty and robust performance. Throughout the space, the Ryno Dining chairs bring a vibrant touch with 15 color options, allowing designers to tailor each room’s palette. These chairs are paired with Ryno Activity, Games Top, and Combo tables which include optional hidden anti-tamper floor fixings to enhance security without compromising aesthetics.
In the inpatient bedrooms, the Ryno Bedroom range was selected for its seamless, one-piece construction that is exceptionally strong and completely water-resistant. This range offers flexible configurations to support comfort, safety, and care, while upholding the same high durability standards as the rest of the Ryno range.
De-escalation is a major focus in the facility’s design. Pineapple’s award-winning products such as the The Levo Recliner, Boden Rocker, and the Jak de-escalation couch were chosen to support this goal. The Jak features a lowered central seat and tapered footwell to assist staff in managing challenging situations safely. Meanwhile, the Levo and Boden provide calming, self-soothing options that empower individuals to de-escalate independently.
