This recently completed redevelopment saw us work alongside project leaders from the unit to provide furniture for a new state-of-the-art 74-bed scheme which offers improved behavioral health inpatient facilities.
We designed and manufactured bespoke fitted furniture in the bedrooms, installing them securely into a recessed portion of the wall. The extra reinforcement of the fitted shelving helps deter misuse and can aid in reducing impact damage. Our Sovie bed was chosen for its ability to be secured to the floor and it’s durable design. Sovie paired with our water-resistant Scorpio mattresses, makes an ideal combination to help prevent liquid penetration and to withstand everyday use.
Throughout the ward corridors and outside garden areas our Ryno® Benches and Ryno® Stools have been utilized to provide areas of rest and relaxation. Our robust Ryno Bench can be weighted or can be secured
using our hidden floor fixing method which deters misuse. Our Ryno range has been designed to allow rainwater run-off and is totally waterproof, making products perfect for outdoor use.
Our Ryno® dining chairs with optional seat and back pads were used within the dining room. The Cool Green finish was selected to promote a feeling of calm, aiming to reduce anxiety that some patients experience during mealtimes. Our Ryno® range offers a resilient, anti-microbial, non-porous surface which aids in infection control, making the entire range an ideal choice for the healthcare sector.
Ryno dining chairs were paired with our popular Cumulus dining tables; designed to offer unobstructed access for wheelchair users, a heavily weighted design that offers safety and stability and its use of an easy-clean, high-pressure laminate surface with security fixings, all makes this range well suited for any challenging environment.
Fully reinforced Skye Plus seating was chosen for quiet rooms, lounges and activity rooms on two wards. Our Plus ranges have additional reinforcement, anti-concealment features and anti-tamper fixing to make them suitable for challenging environments.
Alongside our Skye Plus chairs, Contessa and Boden were chosen. Boden bean bag seating naturally envelopes the user and provides a sensory seating solution that can reinforce calm and promote a sense of general well-being, thus allowing for safer de-escalation practices. Our comfortable Snug Plus modular seating range was selected to offer a flexible seating arrangement for any social spaces, again using vinyl upholstery to aid infection control and allow for easy cleaning.
To ensure our clients were confident in their upholstery choices and to alleviate any interior design decisions, we listened to their concerns and by understanding the needs of the healthcare sector, we were happy to be able to offer further assistance. We ordered an array of vinyl upholstery sample options (based on an initial selection), upon which a visit to our Pineapple showroom was arranged.
