Although we’re still a family business at heart with our work ethic and attention to detail exactly the same as when we started in 1975, our business is now international and our vision more ambitious than ever. Find out more about our journey in the timeline below.
Our founder, William Hathorn, started our company in a workshop in London, England. Originally trading as Pine Productions -based on the popular wood we used to build our furniture- we crafted strong, durable products using traditional carpentry methods.
As our business grew and we began to provide furniture in a variety of materials for the healthcare market, the name no longer fitted. So, with a nod to our beginnings, we took a bold step and became Pineapple.
With growing contract sales, the business relocated to a 15,000 sqft premises. By 2002, more production space was required, and we acquired an additional premises opposite the existing building.
A new era begins as we move into our purpose-built office and manufacturing facility. The top floor is dedicated to showroom space, boasting panoramic views of the surrounding area.
While we started in London, Pineapple is now a truly global business. As well as our offices in the UK, USA, France and Germany, we work with distribution partners in many other countries, giving us the capability to deliver peace of mind to customers the world over.
